Rob Roy

Perhaps you’ve tasted this iconic whisky cocktail before, or maybe you want to test your hand at something new. Either way, you don’t know what you’re missing until you’ve tasted it with Prohibition. Get ready to make multiple, as a classic cocktail like this is best enjoyed with good company.

INGREDIENTS

60ml Prohibition

30ml Sweet Vermouth

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Lemon peel or maraschino cherry (whichever takes your fancy)

Ice

METHOD

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice

  1. Combine all the ingredients into the mixing glass

  1. Stir well. Slowly and smoothly (this bit is important)

  1. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass (or just the shortest vessel you have to hand)

  1. Garnish with the lemon peel or cherry, and enjoy!

TOP TIP

Plunge [a] spoon into the mixing glass and move your fingers away from, then towards, yourself, thus making the spoon rotate in the glass. And at the same time you should also move the spoon up and down. Do this for between 20 and 30 seconds to achieve the desired dilution and temperature.”  Gary Regan, mixologist
